Diamond Phifer

Diamond Phifer is a rising talent whose influence and connections will keep her rising to the top. Growing up in North Chicago by way of Detroit, her grandmother named her Diamond because she knew she was a jewel.

Diamond is a mother who loves her family and puts them first, but she has a passion for fashion and entertainment. Her passion came from watching her grandmother put together fashion shows and modeling competitions. Always interested in meeting and talking to influential people in the community, she found herself at the Illinois media school. Her family was shocked when, as a high school student, Diamond was personally picked by Tyra Banks for her show, Americas Top Model. Diamond’s aspirations were put on hold when she couldn’t go to New York where the show was being filmed. Still, she was blessed and inspired after meeting BET CEO Debra Lee and model Janice Dickerson, and she never lost her passion.

Diamond was motivated to share her story, so she joined the Illinois media school to pursue her media profession where she interviews community leaders on her podcast Gossip City. She continues to volunteer for her community while educating women and girls about life as an entrepreneur. The Illinois media school has given her the opportunities that her grandmother dreamed of.
