Dexter Thornton

Comedian, “King of Ebonics”

Dexter “Dexter-T” Thornton started out hosting a comedy night at Ft. Jackson NCO club. This army veteran turned gospel sensation is not only a standup comedian. He pastors his own church in Alabama. His clean style always makes him a crowd favorite when appearing on national TV or touring with the Southeast Comedy Super Jam All-stars. This Alabama native is guaranteed to have you in stitches with his clever presentation of Ebonics. Dexter T is hailed as “The King of Ebonics Words”.

Growing up in rural Alabama, Dexter T was always around people whom he considered to be very funny. Even so, he never aspired to be a comedian. (He was too quiet). But one day, as fate would have it, his destiny began to unfold. And due to the persistent ushering of friends, Dexter T entered a comedy competition and a star was born! Whether opening for Keith Sweat, Dolomite, Bruh-man, Small Fire, Chocolate, Jonathan Slocumb, or headlining church functions or family reunions the crowd always remembers “The Gospel King of Ebonics Words”.
